8 Best Profound Alternatives in 2026 (Priced Like-for-Like)

· AI Tool Reviews

Of the 33 pages ranking in Google's top twenty for three Profound alternatives searches this week, 17 had a numbered list I could read. In 13 of them, the vendor that published the list ranked its own product first, and a 14th, the personal blog of Ahrefs' CMO, put Ahrefs first.

So before you trust any list of Profound competitors, including this one, it helps to know what you are leaving and who is telling you where to go.

If you only read this far: Peec AI is the closest swap for a marketing team at $95 a month, and Rankability is the one ranked tool I have used.

Why Teams Shop for Profound Alternatives

Profound is an AI visibility platform that tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and other answer engines mention your brand. The same category gets sold as AEO or GEO software, which I unpack in GEO vs SEO. Open Profound's pricing page today and you will not find a dollar sign. Brands get two choices: a free trial, or a custom Enterprise package you reach through a demo.

Profound pricing page showing a free trial and a custom Enterprise plan with no published price
Profound's pricing page on November 4, 2026: a free trial that runs prompts for seven days, then Enterprise at a custom price.

The trial runs 50 prompts a day for seven days across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. It covers one language and one region, allows five Prompt Volumes searches, and comes with no history, exports or API. Enterprise opens up to nine answer engines, SSO and SOC 2, at a price you only learn on a call.

The page also shows where Profound is heading. The headline now reads "Meet your AI Marketer," a credit-based agent that researches and writes for your brand, and tracking has become one module among several. A self-serve Agency Growth plan is mentioned, with 400 credits per client workspace and no price shown.

I went through Profound's old rate card in my Profound review. This post picks up where that one stops.

Who Wrote the Other Lists

The 33 pages came from 30 publishers. By my count, at least 23 of them sell AI visibility or GEO software of their own. That Ahrefs blog belongs to Tim Soulo, the company's CMO, and it puts Ahrefs Brand Radar first.

One caveat on any automated Google pull this autumn: some collected results pages come back with the usual sites swapped out, which I covered in my study of poisoned Google SERPs. I opened every page I counted to check what it says, but a swapped page could still change which publishers made the sample, so read 13 of 17 as a snapshot rather than a census.

AIclicks titles its own entry "The #1 Profound Alternative." Search Atlas, Frase, Slate and Analyze AI each open their lists with themselves.

Some of those tools are good. A vendor's own ranking still mostly tells you what the vendor sells. The one numbered list I found from a publisher with no tracker to sell, from the agency Searchmaxxed, put Otterly first, Peec AI second and Scrunch third.

Profound Alternatives at a Glance

Every price below was read off the vendor's live pricing page on November 4, 2026, with monthly billing quoted wherever both options exist.

Tool Profound limit it removes Starts at What it bills by Engines at entry
Profound (what you are leaving) None, this is the baseline Free trial with 7 days of prompts, then custom A tailored prompt plan plus AI Marketer credits 3 on the trial, up to 9 on Enterprise
Peec AI No published price for daily tracking $95/mo Prompts (50 at entry) and 3 chosen models Pick 3
Semrush AI Visibility No keyword or rank data to pair it with $99/mo per domain, SEO toolkit sold separately Prompts per platform (25 at entry) and domains 3 for prompt tracking, each counted separately

Rankscale An agency plan with no price on the page $99/mo, or $17/mo billed yearly Credits, drawn down by every engine you add Your pick, paid in credits

Profound Pricing vs the Alternatives on One Workload

Entry plans are sized so differently that the table can mislead. So I priced Profound's own trial workload across the tools that publish enough to price it: 50 prompts checked daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, or about 4,500 AI answers a month.

  • Ahrefs Brand Radar custom prompts: about $90 a month. The $50 package includes 2,500 checks, and the other 2,000 bill at 2 cents each.
  • Peec AI: $95 a month. Starter's 50 prompts on three chosen models fit it exactly.
  • Otterly AI: $248 a month. Lite stops at 15 prompts, so it takes Standard at $189, plus $59 to add Gemini.
  • Semrush AI Visibility: $279 a month. Each platform counts separately against the prompt limit, so 50 prompts on three platforms uses 150 slots: the $99 plan's 25 plus three $60 blocks of 50. Semrush tracks Google AI Mode here rather than AI Overviews.
  • AthenaHQ: more than $295 a month. Starter's 3,600 credits cover about 24 days, and extra credits are priced on request.

Rankability, Rankscale and Scrunch meter in queries, credits or responses that their pricing pages do not let me convert exactly, so I left them out rather than guess.

Split Profound Into the Jobs You Actually Use

Profound is a bundle. Its pricing page lists answer engine tracking, Prompt Volumes demand data, Agent Analytics for AI crawler traffic, and the AI Marketer for content work. You may only need one or two of them, and the alternatives below each do one or two of those jobs well.

Diagram splitting Profound into four jobs, each handled by a separate Profound alternative
Four Profound jobs, four tools that do one each on a published price.

In the diagram, Peec AI covers tracking, Ahrefs Brand Radar covers demand data, Scrunch covers AI crawler traffic and Rankability covers content fixes. So start with one question: which of those four jobs did you open Profound for? Answer that and most of this list drops away.

How I Picked and Ordered These

Each pick removes a different Profound limit at a published price. Where two tools remove the same limit, the one buyers hear about more often got the number. To measure that, I asked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity three versions of the Profound alternatives question with live search on. Peec AI and Otterly came up in all 12 answers, Semrush in 11, AthenaHQ in nine, Ahrefs and Scrunch in eight, and Rankscale in three. That measures how familiar a name is to buyers rather than how good the tool is, since those answers lean on the same vendor pages.

Rankability is the flagged exception. It came up in none of the 12 answers. It is here because I have run it, and because it puts 11 engines and content work on a $97 plan, a combination no other pick offers at that price. The order is my call on how closely each tool replaces what most teams use Profound for, daily answer tracking, with the more specialized picks lower down.

Beyond Rankability, which I tested in depth for a video review, I have logged in and run AIclicks, Searchable, Search Atlas and Alertmouse on my own site, and I explain below why none made the numbered list. For Profound and the other seven picks, this post covers price, metering and fit, not how their dashboards feel day to day.

What I can add is the other side of this work. AI search visibility is my consulting practice, and this site went from zero to 12.1K AI citations in six months. The free Bing Webmaster Tools reports recorded those citations, and Search Console's Generative AI report showed Google's side. I also sell a $199 AI SEO System, so it gets no spot on this list.

If you are not leaving Profound and just shopping the category, my roundup of the best AI visibility tools ranks the same field a different way.

Best Profound Alternatives in 2026

The best Profound alternatives in 2026 are Peec AI, Semrush AI Visibility, Rankability, Otterly AI, Ahrefs Brand Radar, AthenaHQ, Scrunch AI and Rankscale, ordered from the closest swap for daily answer tracking to the most specialized job.

1. Peec AI (Best like-for-like swap for a marketing team)

Peec AI homepage for AI search analytics built for marketing teams
Peec AI publishes its prices and puts unlimited users on every plan.

Think of Peec AI as Profound's trial made permanent. Profound's trial runs 50 prompts a day on three engines for seven days. Peec's $95 Starter runs 50 prompts a day on three models you choose, with no end date and no sales call.

It also showed up on 30 of the 33 ranking pages, more than any other tool. Users are unlimited on every plan, and every tier includes a 1-to-5 demand score for each tracked prompt, a lighter take on Profound's Prompt Volumes. Claude is not among the included models, and Peec's pricing table lists it on Enterprise only.

Pros:

  • Published monthly prices with no demo required
  • Unlimited users on every plan

Cons:

  • Three engines at each self-serve tier
  • Claude is listed on Enterprise only
  • One project on Starter, so a second brand means the $245 plan

Best for: An in-house marketing team that wants Profound-style daily tracking at a published price.

Pricing: Starter $95/mo (50 prompts, 1 project), Pro $245/mo (150 prompts, 2 projects), Advanced $495/mo (350 prompts, 5 projects), Enterprise custom. Annual billing lowers each tier.

Free trial: The site offers a free trial button, but the pricing page does not state its length or limits.

Bottom line: If you liked Profound's trial and just want it to keep running, start here.

2. Semrush AI Visibility (Best for teams that already use Semrush)

Semrush AI Visibility pricing showing the Base plan at 99 dollars a month per domain
Semrush sells AI Visibility on its own at $99 a month per domain, with 25 tracked prompts.

Profound has no keyword or rank-tracking data. Semrush sells its AI Visibility toolkit as a standalone product: prompt tracking, AI competitor analysis, prompt research and an AI-readiness site audit for $99 a month per domain. The SEO toolkit is a separate subscription, and Semrush sells the two together as Semrush One.

The base plan is smaller than it looks. The pricing card lists mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, but Prompt Tracking itself covers ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Gemini, and Semrush's own guide says tracking the same prompts on two platforms counts double against the limit. Track on all three and the 25-prompt allowance is really about eight prompts.

Pros:

  • Sits beside the SEO data many teams already pay Semrush for
  • Prompt research included at the base price

Cons:

  • Each platform counts separately against the 25-prompt limit
  • No Perplexity or Claude in Prompt Tracking
  • No free trial on the AI Visibility toolkit

Best for: A team already paying for Semrush's SEO toolkit that wants AI visibility without adding a new vendor.

Pricing: $99/mo per domain with 25 daily prompts, plus $60/mo for each 50 extra prompts. Extra domains cost $99/mo each. Enterprise is custom.

Free trial: No. Semrush's documentation says the AI Visibility toolkit has no free trial. The free AI Visibility Checker handles single lookups.

Bottom line: The easy yes if Semrush is already open in your browser all day, once you price the prompt allowance per platform.

3. Rankability (The one ranked tool I have used)

Rankability pricing page showing Starter, Growth and Pro plans with 11 AI platforms included
Rankability includes 11 AI platforms on every plan, starting at $97 a month.

Rankability is the tool on this list I have personally run, which I documented in my Rankability review. Profound keeps its nine engines on Enterprise and gives the trial only limited AI Marketer credits for content work. Rankability's $97 plan includes 11 AI platforms, Claude among them, plus 20 content projects a month.

What I liked when I tested it sits under the content score. It lays out the H2 and H3 outline of every top-ranking competitor, with each page's score and word count beside it. That is the fixing half of the job, and it is where a pure tracker stops.

Tracking is one part of an agency platform that also covers research, briefs, drafts, audits and client reporting. That is the closest published-price match for Profound's AI Marketer, though it bills in content projects rather than credits. The plans are now called Starter, Growth and Pro.

Pros:

  • 11 AI platforms on every plan, including Claude
  • Tracking, content work and audits on one bill
  • Unlimited workspaces and team members, plus API and MCP access

Cons:

  • Tracked queries are shared across every client workspace
  • The free trial needs a card and limits usage
  • Built around agency workflows, so a single brand may not use the client features

Best for: An agency that wants to measure AI visibility and fix the content in the same tool.

Pricing: Starter $97/mo (100 tracked AI queries, 20 content projects), Growth $297/mo (300 queries, 80 projects), Pro $497/mo (500 queries, 160 projects). Annual billing saves two months.

Free trial: Yes, seven days, card required, with limited usage.

Bottom line: Eleven engines and content work on a $97 plan you can start without a sales call.

4. Otterly AI (Best for the cheapest monthly plan)

Otterly AI pricing page with the Lite plan at 29 dollars a month on monthly billing
Otterly's Lite plan costs $29 a month for 15 prompts on four engines.

If Profound's problem was simply cost, Otterly has the cheapest month-to-month plan here. The one agency list I found also put it first.

Watch the engine list.

Lite covers ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Gemini, Claude and Google AI Mode are add-ons at every tier, and adding all three takes the $29 plan to $76. Profound's trial included Gemini, and at that trial's size Otterly costs more than Peec AI, as the math above shows. I covered the full structure in my Otterly AI review.

Pros:

  • Daily tracking for $29 a month
  • Unlimited team members on all plans
  • Free trial with no card required

Cons:

  • Fifteen prompts on Lite is a small sample
  • Gemini, Claude and Google AI Mode cost extra on every plan
  • Extra prompts are sold in blocks of 100 for $99 on higher tiers

Best for: A solo marketer or small team that wants tracking data before committing a bigger budget.

Pricing: Lite $29/mo, Standard $189/mo, Premium $489/mo, Enterprise custom from 1,000 prompts. Annual billing takes 15% off.

Free trial: Yes, no card required.

Bottom line: The budget exit from Profound, as long as you read the engine list before the price.

5. Ahrefs Brand Radar (Best replacement for Prompt Volumes)

Ahrefs Brand Radar page for studying how a brand shows up in AI answers
Ahrefs Brand Radar is a standalone product, from $199 a month or $50 for custom prompts.

Prompt Volumes is one of Profound's headline features, and the trial gives you five searches. Ahrefs Brand Radar goes furthest on demand-style prompt data at a published price. Peec AI scores each tracked prompt's demand from 1 to 5 and AthenaHQ lists prompt volume estimates, but Brand Radar is built around a prompt database you can explore.

Its AI Visibility Index shows how often a brand appears across more than 500 million prompts that Ahrefs builds from real search queries, with no setup. That is an estimate drawn from search data, a different method from Profound's, so expect the numbers to differ.

The index starts at $199 a month. Ahrefs' help center says that price covers one platform and $699 covers all of them, while the product page labels the $699 option as custom prompts across every model, so confirm what you are buying. Custom prompts run on checks instead: $50 a month buys 2,500, $100 buys 7,000, refreshed daily, with Claude available. If you pay for Ahrefs Lite or above, your plan includes a small custom-prompt allowance, which I cover in my Ahrefs pricing breakdown.

Pros:

  • A huge prompt database you can explore without writing prompts first
  • Custom prompt tracking from $50 a month

Cons:

  • The all-platform plan costs $699 a month, and Ahrefs' two pages describe it differently
  • Claude uses eight checks per update, so it drains an allowance fast

Best for: A team that wanted Profound for demand data and can work from an estimate built on search queries.

Pricing: AI Visibility Index from $199/mo. Custom prompts from $50/mo for 2,500 checks, then 2 cents a check, or $100/mo for 7,000. The help center lists every platform's index at $699/mo.

Free trial: No trial on the Brand Radar page, though a free preview checks your AI visibility.

Bottom line: Run the free preview on your own market first. If your niche shows up, you get a published-price read on prompt demand, as long as you treat it as an estimate rather than Profound's numbers.

6. AthenaHQ (Best for trying tracking with no countdown)

AthenaHQ pricing page with a free Essential plan and a 295 dollar Starter plan
AthenaHQ's Essential plan is free, with 300 credits and five engines.

Profound's trial stops running prompts after seven days. AthenaHQ has the only free plan among these eight with no end date: 300 credits, five engines and unlimited users. The page does not say whether those credits renew, and at one credit per AI response they go quickly, so treat it as a sample rather than a monitoring program.

The jump to paid is steep. Starter costs $295 a month for 3,600 credits and 11 models, and API access and extra credits are add-ons on top. The metering is easy to follow, though: one credit equals one AI response.

Pros:

  • Free plan with unlimited users
  • One credit equals one AI response, which makes usage easy to predict
  • Eleven models on Starter, including Claude

Cons:

  • Nothing between free and $295 a month
  • API access costs extra on top of the subscription

Best for: Anyone who wants to keep looking at their own numbers after Profound's trial expires.

Pricing: Essential free with 300 credits, Starter $295/mo with 3,600 credits, Enterprise custom. Annual billing takes 17% off.

Free trial: A free plan rather than a trial.

Bottom line: A free way to keep sampling after Profound's trial ends, before you pay anyone.

7. Scrunch AI (Best for AI crawler traffic and site diagnostics)

Scrunch AI pricing page showing the Core plan at 250 dollars a month
Scrunch's Core plan on November 4: $250 a month for 125 prompts and five user licenses.

If you like Profound's depth and just want to see a number first, look at Scrunch. It covers the AI crawler side too: Scrunch sells agent traffic monitoring, the job Profound calls Agent Analytics, alongside site audits of how AI reads your pages. If you want a free first look at whether AI agents can read your pages, my AI agent readiness checker does that much.

Two things to know before an annual deal.

Sitecore acquired Scrunch in June 2026, so its roadmap now sits inside Sitecore's plans.

And the pricing URL has served two different rate cards this autumn, so check which one you get. Both are in the pricing line below.

Pros:

  • Monitoring, site audits and agent traffic in one platform
  • A published entry price for enterprise-style depth
  • Seven-day free trial

Cons:

  • Five user licenses on Core and three on the other card's Starter, where several picks above have no seat limit
  • Owned by Sitecore since June, so the product may change shape

Best for: A team that wants Profound-level diagnostics, including AI crawler traffic, without a quote-only contract.

Pricing: Either Core at $250/mo with 125 prompts and 5,000 responses, or Starter at $300/mo month to month ($250 billed yearly), depending on which card loads. Enterprise is custom.

Free trial: Yes, seven days.

Bottom line: The pick for the AI crawler side of the job, once you confirm which rate card you are being offered.

8. Rankscale (Best for agencies that need white-label reports)

Rankscale pricing page with Pro, Pro Plus, Growth and Enterprise plans on monthly billing
Rankscale puts white-label dashboards on its $385 Growth plan.

Profound mentions a self-serve agency plan but does not show what it costs. Rankscale prints every tier, opens REST API access on its $229 Pro+ plan and adds white-label dashboards on the $385 Growth plan.

It meters in credits. Pro includes 1,200 a month, and each engine you add spends credits on every prompt, so more engines means fewer prompts at the same checking frequency. Rankscale also sells a $17-a-month Essentials tier, billed yearly only, that you have to scroll to the comparison table to find.

Pros:

  • White-label reports and API access on published plans
  • The cheapest paid entry here, if yearly billing suits you

Cons:

  • Credits make the monthly bill harder to predict than a flat prompt count
  • Only three of my 12 AI answers named it

Best for: A small agency that needs to hand clients a branded report without a sales call.

Pricing: Essentials $17/mo billed yearly only, Pro $99/mo, Pro+ $229/mo, Growth $385/mo, Enterprise $780/mo.

Free trial: Yes, on Pro.

Bottom line: The published-price answer to Profound's agency plan, if you can budget in credits.

What About AIclicks, Searchable, Search Atlas and SE Visible?

I have logged in and run three of these on my own site, so leaving them off the numbered list needs a reason. Each removes the same Profound limit as a ranked pick, and buyers hear about it less often.

AIclicks starts at $59 a month for three models, which puts it in Otterly's budget lane. It ranks itself first on its own Profound alternatives page, and it came up in one of my 12 AI answers and on four of the 33 ranking pages. When I reviewed it in September, two of its own pages quoted two different prices, which I covered in my AIclicks review.

Searchable starts at $125 a month with ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity included, close to Peec AI's lane. None of my 12 AI answers named it. The sampling math in my Searchable review is why I would start cheaper.

Search Atlas is an SEO automation suite first, like Semrush, and none of my 12 AI answers named it. Its $99 Starter plan includes AI visibility for one project and one AI provider, so it makes sense if you want the OTTO automation from my Search Atlas review and treat the tracking as a bonus.

SE Visible is SE Ranking's standalone AI visibility product, from $89 a month for 75 prompts with unlimited seats and a 10-day trial. It sits in Semrush's lane, an SEO suite's standalone AI tracker, and came up in five AI answers to Semrush's 11. I have not used it, and it is worth pricing if you already work in SE Ranking.

One more I have run often gets grouped with these trackers. Alertmouse tracks your brand mentions across the open web, not inside chatbot answers, and I have tested its MCP against my own alerts in Claude Code, as I covered in my Alertmouse review. Those mentions feed what AI answers draw on, so it is a useful input, but it does not replace Profound.

What About Staying Enterprise?

If your company needs SSO, SOC 2 and a signed contract anyway, a sales process is part of the deal wherever you go. Conductor and BrightEdge both sell AI search visibility inside enterprise platforms, and neither pricing page shows a price. Leaving Profound for either changes the feature set and keeps the sales call, so price Scrunch's and Peec's Enterprise plans alongside them.

How to Choose Without Another Demo Call

These are the questions I would ask before cancelling a Profound trial or contract.

  • Which Profound job did you actually use? Tracking, demand data, crawler traffic or content. Buy for that one.
  • Which engines do your buyers ask? Make sure your replacement covers those without an add-on.
  • How many people need a login? Peec, Otterly and Rankability have no seat limit, and neither does AthenaHQ's free plan. Scrunch Core has five.
  • What happens to your bill when you add an engine? Some tools sell engines as add-ons, others spend credits faster. Price the setup you will run, not the headline tier.
  • Will you act on a falling number? If not, a free plan and the reports below will tell you as much.

Where I Would Go After Profound

Before paying anyone, open two reports you may already have. Search Console's Generative AI report shows your impressions in Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, and Bing Webmaster Tools counts your citations in Copilot and Bing's AI answers. Bing also shows the grounding queries behind your citations. Neither tracks competitors' visibility or runs a fixed set of prompts for you every day, which is the gap the paid tools fill. My guide to tracking AI visibility as a trend covers how to read these numbers without reacting to noise.

Then match your situation to a tool:

  • Trial just ended, not ready to pay: AthenaHQ's free plan.
  • Profound's daily tracking at a published price: Peec AI at $95.
  • Smallest monthly budget: Otterly at $29.
  • You miss Prompt Volumes: Ahrefs Brand Radar's free preview, then the index.
  • Client work: Rankability, which I have used, or Rankscale for white-label reports.

If you want to get named more often, start with my free guide on how to rank in ChatGPT. For a guided version, my AI SEO System ($199, one time) walks you through the fixes. It is mine, so weigh my bias.

And if no tracker sounds worth a subscription yet, my free AI visibility audit checks whether AI crawlers can reach your site and writes starter prompts. Run your ten most important ones by hand once a month and log the answers in a spreadsheet. That tells you whether a tracker would earn its price.

Profound Alternatives FAQs

What is the best alternative to Profound?

For most marketing teams, Peec AI. Its $95 Starter tracks 50 prompts a day on three engines you choose, which matches Profound's free trial but keeps running, with unlimited users and a published price. If price is the main issue, Otterly starts at $29. If you need content work and wide engine coverage, Rankability includes 11 platforms from $97. Rankability is the one ranked tool here I have used, so read the others as pricing-page picks.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Profound?

Profound publishes no paid price for brands, so you have no list price to compare against. AthenaHQ has a free plan, Rankscale's yearly-only Essentials tier works out to $17 a month, and Otterly starts at $29. At the size of Profound's own trial, Ahrefs' custom prompts at about $90 and Peec AI's $95 Starter are the cheapest fits I could price. I have not used these tools, so this is a read of their rate cards.

How much does Profound cost in 2026?

As of November 4, 2026, Profound's pricing page shows no dollar figure. Brands get a free trial that runs 50 prompts daily for seven days across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, then a custom Enterprise package quoted through sales. Profound used to publish a $99 Starter and a $399 Growth plan, and older reviews still quote them.

Profound vs Peec AI: which should you pick?

Pick Profound if you need SOC 2, SSO, up to nine engines and its full Prompt Volumes data, and a custom contract is normal for your company. Pick Peec AI if you want daily tracking on three engines at a published $95 a month with unlimited users and a simpler 1-to-5 demand score. I have used neither, so this comparison rests on their pricing pages.

Who are Profound's main competitors?

The names that came up most when I asked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity were Peec AI and Otterly, in all 12 answers, then Semrush, AthenaHQ, Ahrefs Brand Radar and Scrunch. Those same tools dominated the 33 pages ranking on Google for Profound alternatives. Rankability, Rankscale and SE Visible are smaller names worth pricing for agency work.

Disclosure: Rankability gave me free access to test and pays me a commission on signups. I have also run AIclicks, Searchable, Search Atlas and Alertmouse, but not Profound or the other seven ranked tools. I sell a competing AI SEO product. Pricing checked November 4, 2026. Full disclosure.
