Claude Code for business owners is the shortcut most non-technical founders keep missing. I sat down with Olivia Mansion on the Leading AI Agents podcast to walk through exactly how I use it to run my marketing.
How Claude Code for Business Owners Actually Works
You’ve probably heard someone call Claude Code a “developer tool” and moved on. That is the mistake. I am one of the least technical marketers you will meet, and Claude Code runs most of my content engine now.
In the episode, I share my screen and build real assets live with Olivia. SEO blog posts pulled from YouTube videos, landing pages for clients, a custom notes app, and a Google Drive backup system that runs daily. All of it sits inside one tool.
If you want to go deeper on the stack I reference, I put together a full Claude Code Skills Stack with the workflows and templates I actually run my business on.
The One Skill That Replaced My Content Team
Short version: I drop a YouTube URL into Claude Code, call a skill markdown file, and 5 to 10 minutes later I have a publish-ready post sitting as a draft in WordPress. Screenshots pulled from the video, internal links from my sitemap, external links, featured image, meta description, slug. No agency. No freelancer. The same pattern I describe in my deeper breakdown of Claude Code SEO workflows.
A skill is just a markdown file. Think of it as an SOP for an AI agent. Instead of “write me a blog post, go,” I hand Claude a recipe with every rule I care about. Voice, headings, banned words, word count, link placement. Consistent output every time.

This is why Claude Code for entrepreneurs is such a big deal. You are not prompting a chatbot. You are hiring a junior employee with a written playbook and admin-level rules for what it is allowed to do.
Why Non-Technical People Freeze (and How to Get Past It)
I hear the same thing from almost every business owner in my community. They see the word “code” or “terminal” and they shut down. I did the same thing at first.
The fix is Visual Studio Code. It is a free Microsoft app that gives you a visual wrapper around the terminal. I installed the Claude Code extension, added a few skill files, and started experimenting. Every time something broke, I learned. That is the whole curve. If you want the gentler on-ramp, I wrote a full guide on AI for non-coders.
Here is the setup I recommend for Claude Code for non-technical people:
- A paid Claude plan (Pro at $20 or Max at $100 if you use it daily)
- VS Code with the Claude Code extension installed
- Sonnet 4.6 as the model, with extended thinking turned off to save tokens
- One or two skill markdown files to start
Once you are in, going back to a web app like Claude.ai or ChatGPT feels slow. The context, the files, the MCP connections, the skills. It all compounds.
Real Results With No Backlink Authority
I showed Olivia my Ahrefs profile on the podcast for a reason. Ryandoser.com has almost no backlink profile. No DR campaign. No link outreach. Yet the posts Claude Code produces are ranking in Google and showing up in AI Overviews.

Search “how to scrape LinkedIn profiles with Claude Code” and I rank. Search “best AI marketing communities” and I show up in the AI Overview. Vanity wins for now, but compounding weekly.
My honest take: most AI content is slop. I will not pretend otherwise. But a post written with Sonnet 4.6, a tight skill file, real screenshots, and a subject matter expert at the wheel beats the average Fiverr writer.
What Business Owners Can Actually Build
The SEO workflow is the headline, but it is not the only use case. In the interview I walk through a landing page I built for a local client, Tire Heroes. I paid $10 for the domain on Cloudflare, pointed a Claude skill at their existing site, and the agent scraped colors, copy, and brand voice. Mobile-first page, floating call button, real conversions. I go deeper on this pattern in my Claude Code for marketing breakdown.

Other things I run inside Claude Code:
- A Google Drive backup script that runs every day
- A custom notes app that replaces Obsidian for me
- A social media manager skill that schedules posts via Blotato
- A marketing dashboard pulling from a Google Sheet
Before Claude Code I paid for 5 to 10 AI tools. Most were wrappers charging a premium for cheap models under the hood.
How to Use AI for Business Growth Without Getting Lost
My advice for employees and CEOs is the same. Start with the task you hate most. Research, data entry, social scheduling, repetitive email replies. Then ask AI how to automate it. If you are stuck, open a voice dictation tool, brain-dump your week, and let Claude draft a plan.
The people winning with AI marketing workflows for CEOs are not the most technical. They have subject matter expertise and a willingness to iterate. Pair your expertise with the right tool and you are tough to beat. If you want a shortcut, my Claude Code skills hack post shows how I structure each skill so it works the first time.
Ryan’s Final Thoughts
Claude Code is not a dev tool anymore. It is the operating system most business owners should be running their marketing on, and it leads my roundup of the top AI coding tools for 2026. Start with one skill. Let it fail. Keep refining. The compounding is real.

Claude Code for Business Owners FAQs
Do I need to know how to code to use Claude Code?
No. I am not technical and I run my entire marketing operation inside Claude Code. The key is using skill markdown files as written SOPs. If you can describe the task in plain English, you can build a skill for it. VS Code gives you a visual wrapper so you never have to live inside a terminal.
How much does it cost to run Claude Code for a business?
Claude Pro at $20 per month is enough to test it. Most business owners who use it daily move to Claude Max at $100 per month. That single subscription has replaced 5 to 10 AI tool subscriptions for me, so the net cost is often lower than the stack you are running.
Is content written by Claude Code considered AI slop?
Most AI content is slop because people prompt once and ship. Content written with Sonnet 4.6, a detailed skill file, real screenshots, and a subject matter expert reviewing it is not. My posts rank in Google with almost no backlink authority, which is the clearest signal that quality is holding up.
Where should a non-technical business owner start?
Install VS Code, add the Claude Code extension, get a paid Claude plan, and start with one skill for one repetitive task. Watch the Leading AI Agents interview above. Then visit my YouTube channel and AI Marketing Insiders community.
